Code Tip: D7111

One of the hundreds of CDT codes is D7111 extraction, coronal remnants – primary tooth. Here are some tips to properly bill it.

Billing D7111

Proper coding is determined by the remaining tooth structure. There should be no remaining roots in order to use this code.  If there are roots use CDT code D7140, extraction erupted tooth or exposed root(either primary or permanent).  The payout for D7140 is generally higher if the tooth is retained by root structure which takes elevation or forceps to remove.

If you are struggling with dental codes consider partnering with eAssist. Our Success Consultants are familiar with the various CDT codes and will ensure they are billed correctly. To learn more, schedule a consultation here.
